FC Schalke 04 will be without midfield player Andreas Möller for at least four weeks.

Training injury
The 35-year-old suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right calf during training on Tuesday and joins a lengthy injury list at Schalke, who have already been without Emile Mpenza and Gerald Asamoah for much of the season.

Frustrating spell
Möller's injury is a serious setback for Franck Neubarth's side, who are still challenging for a UEFA Champions League spot in the 1. Bundesliga, where they occupy fourth place. Möller, who will retire at the end of this season, has only recently returned to fitness after another frustrating spell on the sidelines.

Glttering career
Möller has been one of the most successful German footballers of the last decade, and joined Schalke in summer 2000 having previously played for Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus FC and BV Borussia Dortmund. He has scored 110 goals in 413 Bundesliga games, was part of the successful West Germany squad at the 1990 FIFA World Cup and later won the Champions League with Dortmund in 1997.
