German international Jens Jeremies has signed a new deal to keep him at FC Bayern München until June 2006.

New agreement
The 28-year-old midfield player had reportedly spoken to other clubs after allegedly being offered a reduced deal by Bayern. However, he will now continue his long stay at the Olympiastadion, having signed a three-year contract extension.

Regular performer
Jeremies joined the club in 1998 after a controversial move from city rivals TSV 1860 München and rapidly established himself as a key member of the first team. He had begun his career playing for Motor Görlitz and FC Dynamo Dresden, before moving on to 1860. He has played in 20 of Bayern's 21 league games this season.

Lizarazu talks
Having secured a new deal for Jeremies, Bayern have now turned their attention to French international defender Bixente Lizarazu. The 33-year-old is said to be close to agreeing a new one-year contract with the club, with an announcement expected in the next few days.
