Omonia Nicosia FC failed to reach the summit after drawing 1-1 away to Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC.

Omonia Nicosia FC missed their chance to wrest the Cypriot First Division leadership from APOEL Nicosia FC after drawing 1-1 away to Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC.

Theodotou injury
The fixture was originally due to be played last weekend but was postponed until today on safety grounds as there was a problem with seating. Already missing Haris Nicolaou through injury, Omonia's cause was further hampered 20 minutes in when Georgos Theodotou had to be replaced by Marios Nicolaou following a knock. The first half belonged to Enosis, who went closest to opening the scoring in the 40th minute when Demos Goumenos' powerful strike rebounded to safety off the crossbar.

Penalty saved
Enosis had a golden opportunity to take the lead on the hour mark when they were awarded a penalty, but Georgian international Levani Kebadze's penalty was superbly saved by German goalkeeper Stefan Brasas. Omonia took the lead two minutes later, Ljubisa Kekic scoring following a swift counterattack involving Elias Charalambous. However, Enosis were not to be denied and secured a share of the spoils through Georgos Nicolaou in the 72nd minute.
