FC ZTS Dubnica opened up the title race with a 2-0 win at leaders ŠK Slovan Bratislava.

FC ZTS Dubnica opened up the race for Slovakian Super League title with a win at leaders ŠK Slovan Bratislava.

Sluggish Slovan
Pavol Straka scored both goals in a 2-0 victory to give Dubnica their first away win of the season as a sluggish Slovan failed to overcome a solid defence where goalkeeper Marián Postrk was outstanding.

Zilina reduce gap
Defending champions MŠK Zilina took advantage of Slovan’s slip-up to reduce the gap at the top to seven points following a 3-0 win over ten-man 1. FC Lokomotiva Košice. Martin Durica scored twice and Martin Fabus added the third to bring his tally to four goals since joining the club from FK Laugaricio Trencín during the winter break. Bottom side Košice had Ukrainian sweeper Sergej Zajcev sent-off in the 47th minute.

Unbeaten home record
ŠKM Púchov maintained their unbeaten home record with a 2-0 win over FK Laugaricio Trencín. Striker Lubomír Pernis scored his 50th league goal of his career to open the scoring and midfield player Milan Jambor then added to the lead.

Title hopes ended
MŠK Ruzomberok almost certainly ended FC Artmedia Petrzalka’s title hopes with a 2-1 win. Youngsters Marián Kurty and Roland Stevko gave Ruzomberok a 2-0 lead before half-time while Ladislav Suchánek scored Petrzalka’s only goal of the game in the second half.

Disappointing season
AŠK Inter Bratislava's disappointing season continued with a 2-1 defeat at FC Spartak Trnava where midfield player Marek Ujlaky opened the scoring from the penalty spot and Andrej Filip volleyed a shot into the net to double the advantage. Bratislava defender Pavol Barmos was sent-off but Miroslav Drobnák reduced the arrears with a penalty in the dying moments.
