Wisla Kraków made a winning return after the domestic winter break with a 3-0 win at KS Ruch Chorzów.

Polish First Division leaders Wisla Kraków made a winning return after the domestic winter break held on to their three-point lead with a 3-0 win at KS Ruch Chorzów as Legia Warszawa edged a 4-3 victory against KS Amica Wronki.

Six-goal first half
Legia opened the spring season on Friday with a thriller against Amica. When Stanko Svitlica scored twice in the first 17 minutes, the first a penalty, it seemed Legia were cruising to victory. But Marek Zienczuk header and Arkadiusz Bak levelled the scores within nine minutes - only for Tomasz Jarzebowski and Cezary Kucharski to restore Legia's two-goal advantage before the break.

Exciting finish
Zienczuk scored again six minutes after half-time to set up an exciting finish, but Legia goalkeeper Artur Boruc produced a fine save from a Bak shot to ensure his side victory.

Kuzba hat-trick
Wisla's win on Sunday was an altogether more comfortable affair. Two Kamil Kosowski crosses within the space of 60 seconds gave Marcin Kuzba the chance to give Wisla a two-goal lead with four first-half minutes left. And Kuzba completed the hat-trick with a penalty ten minutes from the end following a Mariusz Mastern handball.

Katowice beaten
Widzew Lódz set back GKS Katowice's title bid as they gained a 2-0 win. Piotr Wlodarczyk scored on 38 minutes to give his side the lead and added another in added time, with Katowice having had Damian Sewereyn dismissed early in second half. Third-placed Katowice are now four points away from the leaders.
