Mladen Petric scored either side of a Pascal Renfer penalty to secure the win, which kept Grasshoppers four points clear of second-placed FC Basel, who beat FC Zürich 2-1 thanks to goals from Julio-Hernan Rossi and Benjamin Huggel.

Elsewhere, Servette FC drew 0-0 with Neuchâtel Xamax FC and substitute Johan Berisha came off the bench to secure maximum points for BSC Young Boys against FC Wil 1900. Berisha was introduced after 83 minutes and scored the winning goal a minute from time.
