MŠK Zilina joined leaders ŠK Slovan Bratislava at the top of the table with a 4-2 home win.

MŠK Zilina moved level on points with ŠK Slovan Bratislava at the top of the Slovakian Super League thanks to a 4-2 win at home to FK Laugaricio Trencín.

Tight at the top
With the leaders held to a 2-2 draw at home by ŠKM Púchov, reigning champions Zilina joined Slovan on 54 points having at one stage trailed by eleven points.

Early lead
Stanislav Šesták opened the scoring for Slovan early in the match, but the away side came back strongly after half-time and goals from Jozef Mužlay and Ivan Kovác turned the match on its head. However, Slovan's Róbert Vittek equalised five minutes past the hour and came close to winning the game, twice hitting the crossbar with late efforts.

Zilina fightback
Zilina fell behind after 13 minutes, as Slovakia Under-20 international Milan Ivana gave Trencín the lead. Martin Fabus equalised from the penalty spot before half-time, and Martin Ďurica turned the match in the home side's favour before half-time.

Late drama
Radoslav Zábavník made the score 3-1 after 70 minutes and although Ivana pulled a goal back six minutes later, Zilina defender Cyril Špendla sealed the win four minutes from time, scoring his side's fourth before being sent off for a second bookable offence a minute later.

Petrzalka slip up
FC Artmedia Petrzalka lost ground on the top two as they were also held, drawing 2-2 at FC Spartak Trnava. All seemed to be going well for the third-placed side as goals from Milan Kusalík and Ladislav Suchánek gave Petrzalka a two-goal lead, but Souleymane Fall pulled a goal back and Michal Gašparík equalised two minutes from time.

Important win
AŠK Inter Bratislava moved away from the bottom of the table with an important 2-0 win away to MŠK Ruzomberok, with Július Lelkes and Igor Chalupka both converting passes from Peter Mráz.

Košice held
Bottom side 1. FC Košice drew 2-2 at home to FK ZTS Dubnica, with Lubomír Mat opening the scoring for the home side from the penalty spot. However, goals from Igor Držík and Pavol Straka put the away side in front, although Mati earned Košice a point with a second penalty in first-half added time.
