Brescia favour De Biasi

Brescia Calcio have appointed Giovanni De Biasi as their new coach after parting company with Carlo Mazzone.

Brescia Calcio have appointed Giovanni De Biasi as their new coach a week after parting company with Carlo Mazzone.

New coach
The 46-year-old De Biasi had announced his decision to leave Modena FC last Friday after helping them avoid relegation in their first campaign back in Serie A. He will be presented to the press tomorrow morning at 11.30CET.

Successful spell
De Biasi is considered one of the most promising coaches in Italy after he took over at the Alberto Braglia stadium in November 1999 and led Modena to two consecutive promotions in the following campaigns.

European prospects
Brescia have been without a coach since the 66-year-old Mazzone decided to end his successful three-season spell after the Lombardy side finished ninth in the last Serie A campaign. De Biasi will immediately make his debut in European competition as Brescia will take part in this summer's UEFA Intertoto Cup.
