Article body
Namibian international Razundara Tjikuzu has left SV Werder Bremen and joined fellow Bundesliga club FC Hansa Rostock.
Two-year contract
The 23-year-old defensive midfield player has signed a two-year contract with the transfer fee depending on the number of appearances he goes on to make for his new club.
Out of favour
Tjikuzu, who has earned 45 caps for his country, was under contract with Bremen until 2004. He joined the club in 1996 at the age of 16, but has fallen out of favour and made just eight appearances last season.
‘New chance’
However Hansa coach Herbert Maronn is convinced that his new signing will benefit from the move. "He has had a few problems," Maronn said. "But he is a young lad, who will get a new chance. We are convinced of his skills. Sometimes you just need a change." Hansa finished 13th in the Bundesliga last season while Bremen were sixth, earning a place in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
