Article body
FK Ekranas suffered their first defeat of the season as they fell to a 2-0 home defeat against FK Vetra in their Lithuanian Cup quarter-final first leg.
Sensational reverse
With the first division season currently on a one-month break, the league leaders suffered the sensational reverse after Saulius Kijanskas opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half and top goalscorer Sarunas Litvinas sealed the win.
Kaunas comfortable
FBK Kaunas recorded a comfortable 2-0 away win over FK Sviesa thanks to two goals from defender Irmantas Zelmikas on 68 and 90 minutes. Zelmikas' performance impressed national team coach Algimantas Liubinskas enough to be rewarded with a place in the squad for the forthcoming Baltic Cup. Zelmikas will replace FC Torpedo Moskva's Mantas Samusiovas, who has decided to retire from international football.
Seven for Suduva
Elsewhere, FK Suduva overcame second division side FK Nevezis 7-0, while the game between FK Atlantas and FK Žalgiris Vilnius was postponed until 21 July. The quarter-final second legs will be played on 5 August.
