Three-year contract
Dutruel, 30, has agreed a three-year contract with Strasbourg after a relegation campaign with Deportivo Alavés. The keeper spent four seasons at RC Celta de Vigo before moving to FC Barcelona in 2000, where he was unable to hold down a first-team place.
Pleased with signing
Dutruel then joined Alavés last summer but was unable to prevent them being relegated. "Richard Dutruel is a highly rated goalkeeper in France, and a valuable reinforcement for us," a Strasbourg spokesman said. He becomes the club's fourth summer signing after Pontus Farnerud, Mamadou Niang and Mikael Dorsin.
