Born in May 1955, Crisan played 237 top-flight matches for Universitatea, scoring 40 goals. He helped the Craiova club win two Romanian championships, in 1980 and 1981, as well as four Romanian Cups, in 1977, 1978, 1980 and 1983. In addition, the centre-forward made 46 international appearances, scoring four goals.
