The 50-year-old trainer decided to step down on Monday, 24 hours after the 2-1 home defeat by OFI Crete. Tennes told his players: "When things go wrong, it is only natural that the coach is the first to leave. I thought it best to quit after the match against OFI, hoping that the situation will improve for you from now on."
Caretaker coach
Tennes's assistant Giannis Plubis has been placed in temporary charge while Kallithea look for a new coach. The Athens side are currently 14th in the Alpha Ethniki, with ten points and just one win from 13 matches.
