Article body
Olympiacos CFP's bid for an eighth straight Greek title has been strengthened by the €250,000 signing of Paniliakos FC defensive midfield player Giannis Taralidis.
Long-term contract
Taralidis, a former Greek Under-21 international, has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the side currently leading the table by a point from Panathinaikos FC. The 23-year-old is the club's second signing this month, following the arrival of AEK Athens FC's Grigorios Georgatos.
'I feel great'
Taralidis said: "I feel great, because today I saw my efforts pay off. I am very pleased to sign for Olympiacos. I believe in myself and I want to achieve great things here. I hope I can follow in the footsteps of Predrag Djordjevic and Stelios Giannakopoulos, who were Paniliakos players and then triumphed with Olympiacos." He may not have to wait long for his debut, with Christian Karembeu currently sidelined by a hip injury.
