Many medals
The 36-year-old Möller, who won the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship and UEFA Champions League in an illustrious career, had originally retired last summer. However, he agreed to join Frankfurt in August for one more season.
Troublesome time
After a promising start, injuries began to take their toll, and Möller had managed only six minutes of action over two matches since the winter break. Yesterday, he asked if his contract could be terminated and, after consultation, the club acceded to his wish.
Distinguished career
In all, Möller played 429 Bundesliga matches, scoring 110 goals, with Frankfurt, BV Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04. He also spent two years in Italy with Juventus FC, but his greatest triumphs were with the German national team. He won 85 caps and helped them to victory at the 1990 World Cup and the 1996 European Championship.
