Danish signing for Charlton

Members

Danish international goalkeeper Stephan Andersen has joined English club Charlton Athletic FC in a €1m deal.

'Exciting prospect'
The 22-year-old has moved to Charlton on a three-year contract, having impressed manager Alan Curbishley during a trial in February. "We are delighted to have signed Stephan," said Curbishley. "He is considered by many to be a very exciting prospect."

Destination Portugal
Andersen was handed the third goalkeeper's place in Morten Olsen's Denmark squad for UEFA EURO 2004™, having made his debut in a March friendly against Spain. He will join international team-mate Claus Jensen at the London club.
