Article body
Dutch Cup finalists FC Twente have announced the signing of Karim Touzani.
Two-year deal
The 23-year-old central defender joins on a free transfer from FC Utrecht, where his contract expires this summer, and has signed a two-season deal at the Enschede club. Amsterdam-born Touzani rose up the AFC Ajax academy but had to move to Utrecht to make his Eredivisie debut in 1999/00. His career has been blighted by injury recently since breaking his leg in training in November 2002.
Player happy
Touzani said: "I am glad to be able to play for such a big club. I spoke with FC Twente once and we reached an agreement very quickly." Ironically, Touzani will come face-to-face with his new club next Sunday as Utrecht face Twente in the Dutch Cup final in Rotterdam.
