'Big club'
The 25-year-old played all of Sweden's group games at UEFA EURO 2004™, where they reached the quarter-finals. Edman, who began his career at Helsingborgs IF and had spells at Torino Calcio, Karlsruher SC and AIK Solna before joining Dutch side Heerenveen in 2001, said: "It has all gone quite fast, but I am very pleased. This is a great chance for me. Tottenham are a big club with ambitions, and I am happy to be part of it."
On trial
Tottenham have also taken PSV Eindhoven striker Edson Silva and RC Lens forward Dagui Bakari on trial, with the former player due to feature in Saturday's friendly against Nottingham Forest FC.
