Hannover 96 have signed former FC Barcelona goalkeeper Robert Enke.

Free agent
The 27-year-old has signed a two-year deal and will replace Marc Ziegler, who played at the Niedersachsenstadion on loan last season but returned to FK Austria Wien after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement over a permanent transfer. Enke recently had his contract cancelled by Barcelona after the former German Under-21 international had been unable to dislodge Víctor Valdés at the Camp Nou. He had loan spells at both Fenerbahçe SK and CD Tenerife in the Spanish Segunda División last season.

High hopes
Swiss Challenge League outfit FC Sion have signed Switzerland's number three goalkeeper Fabrice Borer on a three-year contract. The 32-year-old played for the Valais side for seven seasons before moving to Grasshopper-Club in 2002. Borer was in the Swiss squad for UEFA EURO 2004™ but broke his arm a day before it started and had to pull out. The promotion hopefuls have also signed journeyman striker Xavier Gravelaine from FC Istres on a one-year-deal.

Club quest
Serbian midfield player Momir Mileta has signed a short-term contract with Grindavik. The 32-year-old former FK Crvena Zvezda, FK Cukaricki and FK Radnicki Obrenovac player has been out of contract since the end of last year after parting company with Swedish champions Djurgårdens IF. Grindavik are currently seventh in the Icelandic Premier League with ten games of the season remaining.

Loan deal
Hamburger SV midfield player Alexander Meier has joined relegated Eintracht Frankfurt on a one-year loan deal. The 21-year-old made just four appearances for Hamburg last season and wants to secure regular first-team action in the 2. Bundesliga.
