Quartet promoted for China tour

Four players from the Germany side that won the FIFA U19 World Cup have stepped up to the senior fold.

Excellent preparation
Under-19 captain Annike Krahn, winger Melanie Behringer and striking duo Célia Okoyino da Mbabi and Anja Mittag are the quartet named in an 18-player squad. Germany will play Australia (28 January, 10.30CET), Russia (30 January, 09.15CET) and China (1 February, 10.25CET) in what will serve as excellent preparation for this summer's UEFA European Women's Championship.

World's best
There are five players from Bundesliga leaders 1. FFC Frankfurt in the squad, including the FIFA Women's World Player of the Year Birgit Prinz, while three of the four forwards come from 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, the German champions who are represented by seven players.

Draw looms
The other seven qualified nations for WOMEN'S EURO 2005 will want to avoid the holders Germany when the draw for the June tournament takes place in Manchester, England on 19 January.
