A goalless draw with UD Leiria denied Boavista FC the chance to finish the weekend top of the SuperLiga.

Boavista FC missed out on the chance to go top of the Portuguese SuperLiga after they could only manage a goalless draw against UD Leiria.

Monday games
With FC Porto, SL Benfica and Sporting Clube de Portugal not in action until Monday night, a win for Boavista would have taken them top of the table. However, Jaime Pacheco's side failed to breach Leiria’s defence during a tepid match and had to settle for a share of the spoils that leaves them two points behind leaders Porto and Benfica, having played a game more.

Braga third
Boavista’s failure to win allowed SC Braga to move above them into third after they defeated Gil Vicente FC 2-1. Wender opened the scoring for Braga on 14 minutes and João Alves doubled their lead in the 43rd minute, before Fábio Januário scored a consolation for Gil Vicente in the final minute.

Missed Opportunity
SC Beira-Mar failed to move off the bottom of the table despite dominating their 0-0 draw with Rio-Ave FC. The Averio side now have 20 points, the same as A. Académica de Coimbra, who also drew after relinquishing a two-goal lead.

Two-goal comeback
Goals from Paulo Adriano and Daniel Kenedy looked to have put Académica well on course for their third successive win but Vitória FC responded through Albert Meyong on 65 minutes before Bruno Moraes levelled matters in the 78th minute. The home side regained the lead through Dário’s 83rd-minute goal, but Igor's last-gasp strike meant the points were shared.

Adriano leveller
CD Nacional and Vitória SC remain level on points in ninth and tenth position respectively, after they also played out a draw. Luís Mário gave Guimarães the lead on 50 minutes but Adriano equalised in the 65th minute.

Relegation relief
Moreirense FC registered an important victory against CS Marítimo to move two points away from the relegation zone. Brazilian midfield player Eriverthon scored the only goal of the game on six minutes.
