One-year deal
The 45-year-old has signed a one-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico, with a further one-year option, less than two weeks after stepping down from the helm of relegated Atalanta. The ex-Salernitana Sport and US Lecce coach took over from Andrea Mandorlini in December, when Atalanta had only seven points, and despite a strong second half of the season his side failed to avoid the drop.
Papadopulo departure
Rossi resigned soon afterwards, citing a desire to remain in Serie A, and he has been handed another chance after Papadopulo departed the Rome outfit on 30 June. The 56-year-old former AC Siena coach guided Lazio to the safety of 13th place in the season just ended, and had hoped to stay on but talks ground to a halt last week.
