Winless run
The Corsican club occupy 19th position in France's Ligue 1 having taken 13 points from 22 games, have not won in the league since defeating AS Nancy-Lorraine on 10 September, and lost 2-0 to FC Nantes Atlantique on Wednesday night. "If I was in president Michel Moretti's position, I would have taken the same decision," the 52-year-old Courbis said. "I've been looking for the key in this squad for six months but failed to find it."
Initial success
Courbis, who guided Olympique de Marseille to the UEFA Cup final in 1998/99, joined Ajaccio for his second spell in November 2004 when he succeeded Dominique Bijotat. Last season Ajaccio, on one of the smallest budgets in the French top flight, avoided relegation on the final day. "I'll rest now because six months at Ajaccio are more tiring than six months anywhere else," Courbis added. "I sincerely hope José Pasqualetti will get it right - I wasn't able to do it."
