Larsen header
Schalke dominated the early stages at the Arena Aufschalke, with defender Marcelo Bordon's header bringing a sharp save from Frankfurt goalkeeper Oka Nikolov. The breakthrough came after the restart, when Søren Larsen beat Nikolov with a header of his own.
Danish double
The hosts continued to make all the running but did not wrap up the points until added time, when Larsen laid on the second goal for his Danish compatriot Ebbe Sand. The win saw Schalke leapfrog Werder Bremen to go into third, the last of the UEFA Champions League places.
Snowstorm stops play

Kaiserslautern peril
An own goal by Fabian Schönheim gave Hamburg breathing space, before Rafael van der Vaart rounded off the victory with a late penalty. They go second, six points behind leaders FC Bayern München, while Kaiserslautern slip back into the relegation zone.
