Fiorentina swoop for Santana

ACF Fiorentina have announced the signing of Argentinian international right-winger Mario Alberto Santana from US Città di Palermo for an undisclosed fee.

Four years in Florence
The 24-year-old has inked a four-year contract with an option for a further season. Last term Santana played 28 games for Palermo and he has previously represented AC Venezia and AC Chievo Verona in Serie A. Santana is Fiorentina's third summer recruit after the Florence club finished fourth in Italy to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The Viola have also landed French goalkeeper Sébastien Frey, who was on loan from Parma FC in 2005/06, on a permanent basis and midfielder Fabio Liverani, on a free transfer from S.S. Lazio.
