Deschamps named Juventus coach

Juventus have appointed former midfielder Didier Deschamps as their new coach on a two-year contract as they adapt to life after Madrid-bound Fabio Capello.

Juventus have appointed former midfielder Didier Deschamps as their new coach on a two-year contract.

European Cup winner
The 37-year-old Deschamps, who won three Italian titles and one European Champion Clubs' Cup as a Juventus player, replaces Fabio Capello who left the Bianconeri to join Real Madrid CF last week. The Frenchman had been out of work since the start of last season when he resigned as AS Monaco FC coach after leading the Ligue 1 team to the 2004 UEFA Champions League final. Deschamps was at the Stadio Delle Alpi from 1994-99, having also represented FC Nantes Atlantique, Olympique de Marseille, FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Chelsea FC and Valencia CF during a glittering playing career.
