Torino FC have signed Italy goalkeeper Christian Abbiati on loan from AC Milan with an option to secure his services on a permanent basis next summer.

Abbiati, 29, played 19 games in Serie A and six in the UEFA Champions League with Juventus last term, having been loaned to Torino's city rivals to cover for Gianluigi Buffon's lengthy absence caused by a shoulder injury. He had previously spent seven seasons with Milan. Abbiati has also been capped four times by Italy, with his most recent appearances coming in two friendlies last November.
