Poland defender Seweryn Gancarczyk has pledged his future to FC Metalist Kharkiv ahead of their UEFA Cup debut in the 2007/08 campaign.

'At home'
The 25-year-old, who is Metalist's vice-captain, said: "My deal was expiring but the club offered to extend it for two more seasons until the end of 2009 and I gladly agreed. I feel at home at Kharkiv and I do not want to change anything." Gancarczyk has played a key role in helping Metalist finish third in Ukraine, earning only their second crack at European competition. The first was the 1988/89 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, when they reached the second round before losing 1-0 on aggregate to Roda JC
