Ukrainian side FC Metalist Kharkiv have signed Ivorian striker Venance Zézé on loan from FC Metalurh Donetsk as they prepare to make their UEFA Cup debut.
Permanent option
The 26-year-old 'Zézéto' has agreed a one-year loan which gives Metalist the option of buying him at the end of the season. The forward scored two goals in 21 appearances for Metalurh last season after moving to Ukraine from Belgium in 2006. Having started his career with ASEC Abidjan, he represented KSK Beveren, KAA Gent and FC Molenbeek Brussels Strombeek during a five-year spell in Belgium. He will be joined at his new club by 23-year-old Senegalese defender Papa Gueye who has agreed a three-year contract after impressing on loan from FC Volyn Lutsk last season. Metalist finished third in the Ukrainian Premier League last season to earn a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.
