No guarantees
The 26-year-old former Liverpool FC player has signed a three-year contract at Rennes. He said: "I will be second-choice keeper [behind Simon Pouplin] with no guarantee even of playing in the domestic cups. I had offers from Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece and Turkey but I preferred Rennes. I just hope I'll take my chance if it comes."
Well travelled
Rennes' second summer recruit following the arrival of Sweden defender Petter Hansson, he replaces veteran Christophe Revault who has moved to Ligue 2 outfit Le Havre AC. Discovered by AS Monaco FC, Luzi was with AC Ajaccio prior to transferring to Liverpool in 2002. He made a solitary substitute appearance during three campaigns in England, before switching to R. Excelsior Mouscron and then Charleroi last summer.
