Third-placed AC Milan gave Leonardo a rousing sendoff as they concluded their Serie A campaign with a 3-0 home win against Juventus.
Leonardo, who announced on Friday that he would relinquish his role as Rossoneri coach after the visit of the Turin club, was able to celebrate the breakthrough goal on 14 minutes. Luca Antonini registered his first in Milan colours, beating Gianluigi Buffon with the aid of a significant deflection off the sliding Fabio Cannavaro. Ronaldinho (28) doubled the lead after being teed up by Pato and then claimed his 12th league goal of the campaign midway through the second half, nonchalantly curling the ball into the far corner.
Elsewhere, 12th-placed S.S. Lazio ran out 3-1 winners against ten-man Udinese Calcio, for whom Antonio Di Natale scored a league-leading 29th goal of the campaign. The score was level at 1-1 when Mauricio Isla (37) was dismissed for receiving two bookings in quick succession. The remainder of the final round of matches takes place on Sunday, when FC Internazionale Milano can secure the title at AS Roma's expense by coming out on top at relegated AC Siena.
