Lecce promoted as Serie B champions

US Lecce have won the Serie B title for the first time in their history to earn promotion along with AC Cesena, who have not played in the Italian top flight since the 1990/91 season. Lecce finished one point above Cesena  despite a goalless draw with US Sassuolo Calcio in Sunday's final round of fixtures. Brescia Calcio, AS Cittadella, Sassuolo and Torino FC will contest the play-offs for the final promotion place.
