Valbuena leveller denies Lyon top billing

On a snow-affected day, Olympique Lyonnais were denied top spot by a 1-1 draw at Olympique de Marseille after FC Sochaux-Montbéliard shared the spoils with FC Girondins de Bordeaux.

Olympique Lyonnais squandered the chance to move top of Ligue 1 after sharing a 1-1 draw with Olympique de Marseille. The visitors took the lead when Lisandro scored his eighth league goal of the season (35), but the hosts rallied and France midfielder Mathieu Valbuena (51) equalised with a strike which lifted the champions into fifth, two points behind their fellow UEFA Champions League hopefuls.

LOSC Lille Métropole remain on top despite the postponement of their match with AS Nancy-Lorraine due to snow, which also claimed the encounter between RC Lens and SM Caen for the second time in 24 hours. The leaders are level on 31 points with Paris Saint-Germain FC and Stade Rennais FC with a game in hand.

Only a point separated FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and FC Girondins de Bordeaux before they met on Sunday afternoon, and the margin remains the same after the teams drew 1-1. Bordeaux's lead lasted just seven minutes as Brown Ideye (35) cancelled out Jussiê's opener but Les Girondins, who lie ninth, can take comfort from the fact they are just five points off the summit.
