Nürnberg caught out by late Köln strike

1. FC Nürnberg's European aspirations were dealt a blow with a last-gasp 1-0 defeat at 1. FC Köln, on a day when relegation-threatened Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg drew 1-1.

1. FC Nürnberg suffered a 1-0 defeat at 1. FC Köln which leaves their European qualification aspirations in the balance.

Nürnberg remain sixth in the Bundesliga, three points behind fifth-placed 1. FSV Mainz 05 and only one ahead of Hamburger SV. They had looked set to be at least a point better off, but succumbed to Milivoje Novakovič's goal two minutes into added time in Cologne.

Köln are tenth, three points ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt, who are four points clear of the relegation zone having drawn 1-1 with 16th-placed VfL Wolfsburg, themselves two points adrift of safety.
