Cagliari Calcio have appointed Massimo Ficcadenti as their new coach having parted company with Roberto Donadoni on Friday.
The 43-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Sardinian club, who open their Serie A campaign with a home game against champions AC Milan on 27 August. "This is an important opportunity for me,” said Ficcadenti, who led AC Cesena to top-flight safety last season. "Potentially Cagliari can aim for something more than just avoiding relegation."
