National association matters and an update on preparations for UEFA EURO 2012 are among the items on the agenda for the latest meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Limassol, Cyprus, on Thursday.

The Executive Committee, under the chairmanship of UEFA President Michel Platini, will hear an update on this week's strategy meeting in Cyprus, where UEFA has met with presidents and general secretaries of UEFA member associations to discuss a variety of issues relating to European football.

Next summer's UEFA EURO 2012 final round is fast approaching and preparations in the two host countries, Poland and Ukraine, are reaching their climax, along with the qualifying competition on the field. The Executive Committee will hear about the work being undertaken in the co-host nations for the tournament from 8 June to 1 July 2012.

New members of the UEFA Convention on Referee Education and Organisation will also be announced. The convention aims to enhance referee education, promoting the role of the referee and improving refereeing structures and development within Europe.

The media conference that will follow the Limassol meeting has been moved forward from Friday to Thursday. The Executive Committee meeting will also start earlier, on Thursday morning rather than afternoon, and is now scheduled to end at 18.00 local time (17.00CET) on the same day. It will be followed directly by the media conference, from 18.15, to be attended by Michel Platini and UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino.

The location for the press conference is Hotel Le Meridien in Limassol, Cyprus.
