Paris Saint-Germain FC have returned to the top of the Ligue 1 table after making light work of struggling AC Ajaccio in a 4-1 victory.
Previous leaders Montpellier Hérault SC could only manage a 1-1 draw at Dijon FCO on Saturday, and that presented PSG with the chance to move back into pole position. They duly seized it, with Javier Pastore driving in the opener after 27 minutes and the same player feeding Jérémy Menez to curl high into the far corner from the left moments later. Yoann Poulard reduced the deficit close to half-time, but Guillaume Hoarau and Nenê made sure of the result late on.
The win moved PSG a point clear of Montpellier and dropped Ajaccio into the bottom three. Elsewhere, SM Caen played out a goalless draw at home against Stade Brestois 29 and Stade Rennais FC won 2-0 at Brittany neighbours FC Lorient to go fourth.
