Eugenio Corini has replaced Domenico Di Carlo as coach of AC Chievo Verona after Sunday's 4-1 defeat by fellow strugglers US Città di Palermo left the side third from bottom in Serie A.
The weekend reverse was the fifth in a row for Chievo, who made a bright start to the campaign with an opening-day victory over Bologna FC. The setback in Sicily brought an end to Di Carlo's second spell at the helm as he made way for Corini, a 42-year-old who scored 27 goals in 134 appearances for Chievo between 1998 and 2003.
The former FC Crotone and Frosinone Calcio boss will make his Serie A coaching debut against another team he used to play for, UC Sampdoria, on Saturday.
