AS Monaco FC have continued their summer spending spree by signing midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia from Sevilla FC for €20m.

A product of the RC Lens academy, Kondogbia has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the principality outfit, who have brought Éric Abidal, Falcao, James Rodríguez, Jérémy Toulalan, João Moutinho and Ricardo Carvalho to the club since returning to Ligue 1.

Kondogbia was part of the France squad that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey in July. Earlier this month he made his senior international debut in a goalless friendly draw with Belgium.

Kondogbia left Lens for Sevilla just over 12 months ago, featuring 31 times in the top flight in 2012/13. The 20-year-old came off the bench in both of the Andalusian side's Liga games this term and also started the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off against WKS Śląsk Wrocław.
