Last-gasp PSG capitalise on Lyon loss

Two added-time strikes helped Paris Saint-Germain FC prevail against EA Guingamp and take advantage of Olympique Lyonnais' surprise slip-up at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC.

Adrien Rabiot and Zlatan Ibrahimović scored in added time as Paris Saint-Germain FC finally overcame promoted EA Guingamp to capitalise on Olympique Lyonnais' surprise defeat at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC.

After two draws out of three in Ligue 1 this season, PSG coach Laurent Blanc will have been grateful for a 2-0 home win in a match where his side never found their rhythm. Guingamp were moments away from earning an impressive point when 18-year-old Rabiot broke the deadlock with a close-range finish in the 91st minute. Ibrahimović then raced onto a long ball and exploited confusion in the Guingamp defence to hit his first goal of the new campaign.

If the victory was a fillip for PSG, Lyon's disappointing fortnight was compounded by a 2-1 loss at Évian. Back-to-back defeats by Real Sociedad de Fútbol in the UEFA Champions League play-offs sandwiched last weekend's home reverse against Stade de Reims, and any hopes Lyon fans had of a positive response were dashed by Kevin Berigaud's first-half double. Jordan Ferri's response after the break was little consolation.
