Samuel Et'o's first goal for his new club maintained UC Sampdoria's European push, while AC Milan were denied three points by Hellas Verona FC.

• Eto'o makes it 2-0 with fine half-volley on the turn; his first Serie A goal since May 2011.
• Danilo Avelar dismissed late on for Cagliari; Gianfranco Zola's side remain third from bottom.
