"We're the strongest, we're the best," said coach Iurie Osipenco after FC Milsami Orhei won a first Moldovan title with a dramatic final-day win at FC Dacia Chisinau.

A 2-1 win at FC Dacia Chisinau allowed FC Milsami Orhei to overtake the capital side on the final day of the season and secure a first Moldovan title.

Iurie Osipenco's team were third at the start of the day. Gheorghe Andronic opened the scoring before half-time while Abdoul-Gafar Mamah's own goal made it 2-0 five minutes from the end. Petru Leucă pulled one back but it provided little consolation for Dacia as the title slipped from their grasp.

FC Sheriff's 1-0 victory over FC Dinamo-Auto which played out at the same time meant three clubs finished on 55 points at the top of the table, but Milsami's superior head-to-head record against their competitors meant it was they who got their hands on a first title.

"We won today because of our fans and luck was on our side. We proved we're a team and deserve this title," said defender Petr Racu. "We mobilised ourselves after a few slips in the league and showed our character. Now UEFA Champions League qualifying awaits us!"

"We're the strongest, we're the best," added Osipenco. "Maybe some doubted us, perhaps even some of our players, but we took points match after match. We deserve this success.

"I didn't feel anything in the closing minutes and was unaware of what was happening. I didn't even know Dacia had pulled one back. Now we'll grab as much champagne as we can and party until the morning."
