Turkish 1.Lig club Bursaspor have signed Under-19 international defender Egemen Korkmaz.

'Very happy'
The 19-year-old has agreed a contract until summer 2005 after his move from second division side Kartalspor. "I am very happy to be at Bursaspor which are for me one of the most respected clubs in the country," said Egemen. "I hope I will have a lasting career at the club."

International goal
As well as establishing himself with Bursaspor, Egemen is also eyeing a place in the national team. "My goal is to play for my country at full international level," he added.

Defensive hope
Egemen began his career at third division club Balikesirspor, before moving to Kartalspor 18 months ago. His new club, eighth in the league, hope he will strengthen a defence that has conceded 26 goals in 18 matches so far this season.
