Latvia round-up: Ventspils maintain record

FK Ventspils maintained their 100 per cent start to the new Virsliga season on Saturday with a 3-1 away victory at newcomers FK Auda Riga.

Rimkus opener
After a tight first half in which neither side looked likely to break the deadlock, Ventspils took the lead five minutes after the interval through Vits Rimkus. Vladimir Draguns drew Auda level ten minutes later but further strikes from Yevgeny Landirev (75) and Andrejs Butriks (82) sealed a win which puts Ventspils third in the table.

Molotkovs double
In Sunday's other match, FC Dinaburg beat FK Valmiera 2-0 at the Tselnieks stadium courtesy of two penalties converted by Jurijs Molotkovs.
