Valeri Gladilin has been fired as coach of Armenian Premier League side FC MIKA.
Poor results
Eduard Markarov has taken over the reigns after a string of bad results in the league and cup tournaments under Russian coach Gladilin. MIKA lost 2-0 to FC Shirak in the league and then succumbed to FC Pyunik twice, 2-1 in the Super Cup and 4-1 in the Armenian Cup semi-final first leg. Gladilin will stay on at MIKA as a consultant and also head of scouting.
Markarov's return
Markarov was in charge of MIKA in the 2000/01 season and then became vice-president of the club following Gladilin`s arrival. Former USSR international Markarov also coached Armenia from 1992 until 1994.
Other changes
Aramais Tonoyan, the former reserve-team coach, will be Markarov's assistant, while MIKA veteran defender Sergei Gorlukovich will retire and take control of the second team.
