England international Paul Scholes scored twice as Manchester United FC beat Everton FC.

England international Paul Scholes scored twice as Manchester United FC left it late to claim all three points against Everton FC in the English Premiership.

Three goals in four minutes
With three goals in the last four minutes, the 1999 UEFA Champions League winners moved up to fourth place, six points behind leaders Arsenal FC.

Penalty
Scholes broke the deadlock four minutes from time with a sweet left-foot shot from ten metres. Dutch international Ruud van Nistelrooy converted a penalty on 89 minutes after Everton's David Weir had been sent off for a professional foul on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Diving save
Scholes added the third with a rasping 20-metre drive in injury time. Everton had nearly taken the lead just before Scholes struck, when 16-year-old substitute Wayne Rooney forced a diving save out of Fabien Barthez.
