Defending champions FC Shakhtar Donetsk are back on the summit of the Ukrainian Premier League after beating previous leaders FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 3-0 away from home.
Unbeaten record ends
Dnipro defender Gennady Moroz and leading striker Oleh Venhlinskiy were both missing through injuries, and the visitors - who had not dropped a point against their hosts in six years - took full advantage. Serhiy Popov scored on 33 minutes on the counterattack, and Aleksey Bakharev doubled the lead just before the break. Hennadiy Zubov scored on 71 minutes to make it 3-0, and Popov hit the post late in the game as Dnipro suffered their first loss this season, conceding more than one goal for the only time in the current campaign.
Dynamo in touch
FC Dynamo Kyiv stayed in touch with a 4-1 win at FC Chornomorets Odesa. Diogo Rincón and Maksim Shatskikh scored twice each for Dynamo, while Valeri Catensus registered a consolation goal for the hosts. Dynamo now have 29 points, six less than Shakhtar and Dnipro, although with an extra game at hand.
Arsenal win
FC Arsenal Kyiv are back to winning ways with a 5-0 victory against ten-man FC Tavriya Simferopol, for whom Olexiy Osipov was dismissed on 38 minutes, while FC Obolon Kyiv won their first away game in the top flight, as they outlasted FC Karpaty Lviv through a late goal from Dmytro Karyaka.
