Wild deflection
In the final game before the Divizia Nationala's winter break, Vadim Boret's free-kick took a wild deflection and landed to deceive the Dacia goalkeeper and give Sheriff a 1-0 lead after 26 minutes, but they were not to be given an easy ride.
Late winner
Dacia were back on level terms through their most experienced player, Andrei Martin, who galvanised his team's efforts and equalised in the second half. However, Dacia's celebrations were not to last for long as Andriy Nesteruk took advantage of a defensive lapse late in the game to salvage three points for Sheriff, who are now four points ahead of FC Zimbru Chisinau.
Surprise goal
Zimbru themselves faced a tough away game at FC Tiraspol but also took three points despite going behind after 14 minutes. Moldova Under-21 striker Sergey Dadu placed a beautiful header past the Zimbru goalkeeper to give his side a lead, and the visitors' misery continued as Viorel Frunza missed a penalty minutes later.
Zimbru triumph
However, Boris Cebotari and Levan Gvazava were both on target for Zimbru in the first half, putting a goal each past Tiraspol's 18-year-old goalkeeper Vladimir Lifsit and handing his club their fourth defeat in a row. Elsewhere, Aurel Druta's goal gave FC Agro Chisinau a 1-0 win against FC Politechnica Chisinau.
