PFC Litex Lovech reached the semi-finals of the Bulgarian Cup after defeating PFC Slavia Sofia on penalties.
Two-goal defecit
In the last of the four quarter finals, delayed after both clubs agreed to postpone the game in the hope of finding better playing surfaces, Litex earned the right to join PFC Levski Sofia, PFC CSKA Sofia and PFC Marek Dupnitsa in the draw for the semi-finals after overturning a two-goal deficit from the first leg.
Easy goal
New Litex signing Sasa Bogunovic opened the scoring after eleven minutes, scoring from close range after Hristo Yovov had laid the ball into his path from a Kiril Nikolov cross. However he then missed a chance to double his side's advantage when his effort hit the crossbar.
Deflected header
It could have proved a costly miss until Rosen Kirilov levelled the aggregate scores in the second half, deflecting a headed effort from team-mate Zhivko Zhelev across the goalline, and after an uneventful period of extra-time, penalties settled the tie in Litex's favour.
Decisive save
Zhelev scored the crucial seventh penalty for Litex, while Slavia substitute Todor Simeonov saw his effort saved by Litex goalkeeper Stoyan Stavrov to give the Lovech side victory.
