Ibrahimović strikes twice to save PSG

A sixth double of the season for prolific striker Zlatan Ibrahimović rescued Paris Saint-Germain FC at home to struggling AS Nancy-Lorraine, earning his side a 2-1 comeback win.

After succumbing to ten-man Stade de Reims last week, it seemed as though PSG's travails against relegation-battling sides was set to continue. Yassine Jebbour had hit the post before Benjamin Moukandjo struck for the visitors before half-time, heading in after Salvatore Sirigu had saved his initial effort.

Zlatan Ibrahimović turned the game on its head around the hour mark however with a quick-fire double. Jéremy Ménez stabbed the ball into the path of his Swedish team-mate, who finished coolly to equalise. Moments later, Ibrahimović touched Marco Verratti's long pass beyond the onrushing Damien Gregorini and slotted into the empty net.

The woodwork denied Nancy again late on, but PSG survived the scare to come away with an important win that leaves them five points clear of Olympique Lyonnais, who face third-placed Olympique de Marseille in their game in hand on Sunday.

Resurgent LOSC Lille moved fifth after three second-half goals helped them win 3-1 at Valenciennes FC, while Évian Thonon Gaillard FC moved out of the relegation zone with a 5-1 defeat of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, Cédric Barbosa and Saber Khelifa both scoring twice.

Elsewhere, ES Troyes AC were replaced at the bottom of the table by Nancy after beating Reims 4-2, while AC Ajaccio and Toulouse FC won 1-0 against FC Lorient and Stade Brestois 29.
